Writing Workshop Descriptions

Self Care- How to find the time:  this workshop is taught by Lori Ramos Lemasters individually or in a group setting both online via Skype or in person.

Caring for a loved one can often lead to a person neglecting their own personal self care needs. Journal writing is a cost effective way to help you identify what self care means to you and help manage the guilt associated with taking personal time. Upon completion of this class, caregivers will have a better understanding of the importance of self care and the tools to make it a reality in their caregiving experience. In this class we work on naming the guilt and giving yourself permission to practice self care. Lori helps you create a personal care plan that incorporates self-care based on your personal level of comfort.

Rediscovering SELF:  a series of three two hour workshops taught by Lori Ramos Lemasters individually or in a group setting both online via Skype or in person.

The role of caregiver is different for everyone, however one common thread is the loss of self when caring for a loved one. When your role as a caregiver comes to an end it can be difficult to pick up the pieces and rebuild your life. This class is designed to help you identify what life “Post Caregiver” can be and guide you through developing a plan to make your dreams a reality.

Professional Caregiver workshops: Long-Term Care and Hospice facilities suffer higher than average turnover rates. Workers leave for a variety of reasons physical and emotional demands ranking high on the list. Lori creates workshops for facilities discussing these challenges and teaches staff journal techniques to help them identify and utilize their journal to manage these demands as well as find solutions.

Write your story:  Lori will meet with you the caregiver or the patient and record stories to leave as a legacy. This may include old family traditions, family history, etc., or  written mementos such as  letters for loved ones for future events that may be missed (i.e. a letter for your wedding day or the birth of a grandchild)
