Your Care Team

eldercare5Building a Care Team

When someone is in trouble, people like to help. They bring food after a death in the family. They mow your lawn while your child is in the hospital. They volunteer to drive an elderly neighbor to a doctor’s appointment.  They offer to plan a fundraiser. They know they cannot fix the problem, they cannot cure the patient. But by doing these little things, they feel useful. They feel like they’re making a difference.   It’s hard to accept help, even harder to admit you need help or to ask for help. But these well intentioned people can be your lifeline. Let them help.  Let them be a part of your care team.

The care team will consist of people who can help take on some of the caregiving duties and/or eliminate some of your daily burdens, leaving you more time to provide the best care for your loved one.
