In my classes, we discuss the challenges of caring for a loved one and use journal techniques to find personal solutions that help you grow as a caregiver while maintaining your identity and practicing much needed self-care. I share my own challenges and the lessons I learned so that you can smoothly navigate your own.
Caregiving can be one of the most challenging things you will ever do. It can also be the most rewarding. I encourage attending an upcoming class, workshop, or an individual session.
Lori works with many organizations using therapeutic journal writing techniques to help staff identify and understand the natural emotions involved in working with patients and their families.
Helping professional caregivers navigate feelings of stress and anxiety, finding balance between caring enough to give good care while not caring so much it begins to effect personal relationships and managing the grief that comes from the loss of a patient are just a few triggers that can cause a professional caregiver to feel job dissatisfaction. Lori's workshops offer a way to have healthy discussions.
Lori works with many organizations such as American Heart and Stroke Association, Colorado Latino Age Wave, Easter Seals of Colorado, Parkinson's Association of the Rockies facilitating focus groups, speaking to caregivers and staff and publishing articles about the unique needs of family caregivers.
Lori welcomes the opportunity to develop a program for your organization or to speak at your next event.
